  The Perth Hills the place to go to see artist in WA. Among the tall trees and wattle bushes there are many artist studios and small galleries. One of these that we visited is Peach Tree Gallery at the home of painter Jeremy Holton. His studio/gallery is in the small village of Mount Helena an old sawmill settlement built around a village green and tavern. We found Jeremy’s work at his website and loved the exciting brilliant colours of his paintings. We contacted him and arranged a time to visit. The house is surrounded by trees with a lovely view over the valley. Jeremy greeted us and opened the gallery for us. There we saw a wonderful range of his interesting and beautiful paintings. He talked to us about the paintings and then left us to look around on our own while he organised some coffee. We sat in the sunshine at a table on his patio overlooking the valley and chatted with Jeremy and his Thai wife Waree while we drank our coffee. We talked about art and Thailand, where Jeremy and Waree have an arts guesthouse Thailand Painting Holidays. Then Jeremy showed us around his studio which is on a balcony with a lovely view. He explained how he paints which was most interesting. We had a great time and never felt under any pressure to buy paintings. We enjoyed Jeremy’s company and we will certainly call in again next time we are in the Perth Hills.
